TheDopamine (“we”, “us”) operates a simulated shopping experience at thedopamine.shop. This policy explains what information we collect, why we collect it, and how you can control it. We built this simulator to be fun, not invasive, so we keep the data we collect deliberately small.
Account information. When you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, and profile avatar from Google so we can create and identify your account. We do not receive your Google password.
Browsing and analytics events. We record how you use the site, such as pages viewed, products browsed, searches performed, and buttons clicked. This helps us understand what people enjoy and where the experience breaks down.
Simulated order history. When you tap Buy Now, we save the item in your closet and your order history. This is purely for the simulation, so you can look back at your fantasy wardrobe and track your badges and streaks.
We never ask for payment details of any kind: no card numbers, no UPI IDs, no bank information. There is nothing to charge, so there is nothing for us to store.
A shipping address is optional and only used to make the simulation feel real, for example showing a delivery city on a fake order. We do not ship physical goods based on this address, with the rare exception described in our Returns page. You are free to leave this field blank or use placeholder information.
We use cookies and browser local storage to keep you signed in (authentication tokens) and to power session-level analytics, such as remembering where you left off browsing. These are essential to how the site works and cannot be turned off without breaking core functionality like staying logged in.
Google OAuth. We use Google to authenticate you. Google's handling of your data is governed by Google's own privacy policy.
Google AdSense. We plan to show advertising through Google AdSense to help keep TheDopamine free. AdSense may use cookies to serve ads based on your visits to this and other sites. Where personalized advertising requires your consent under local law, we will ask for it before enabling personalized ads; you can otherwise browse with non-personalized ads. You can review or opt out of personalized advertising at any time in Google Ads Settings.
AWS S3. Product images and other static assets are hosted on Amazon Web Services S3. Requesting these assets may share standard technical information, such as your IP address, with AWS as part of normal web delivery.
You can request that we delete your account and associated data at any time by emailing hello@thedopamine.shop. We will process deletion requests within a reasonable time and confirm once it is complete.
